Age Management Through Critical Lifestyle Changes
The Body Well’s Doctor of Clinical Occupational Therapy (OTD) is Faryl Reingold who also holds a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. Her specialties are Weight Management, Smoking Cessation and Chronic Disease Management/Prevention. She works with clients to find means of treatment that best fit your interests and lifestyles. She is also trained to use an overall lifestyle approach to preventing disease and improving wellness, a method of making small changes in habits in order to create measurable, lasting gains.
Occupational Therapy traditionally has come to mean therapy to return to function or to improve function for people with fine motor limitations. For example teaching a person to button their shirt again, teaching a person to write with a pen, eat with utensils, etc.
It has been practiced this way for many years.
However, the scope of practice of Occupational Therapy is much broader. Over the past ten years Occupational Therapists have begun to broaden their scope of practice to be more encompassing of the principles upon which OT was founded. That is -- to improve or re-train people in performing the life tasks which occupy their time
Dr. Reingold studied at USC in their Lifestyle Redesign® Program, an innovative approach to Occupational Therapy which focuses on replacing less desirable behaviors with ones that add value to your life.
