Living Thinking at The Body Well presents:
The Art of Having a Body:
Calpernia Addams and Conner Habib on the Body and Creativity
We think of our bodies – our arms and legs, our organs, flesh, and skeleton – as vehicles for walking, eating, and reproduction. But our bodies aren’t just machines to do work, they’re the sites and origins of enormous creativity.
We can learn about our unlimited potential for artistic creation and invention by looking at and listening to our bodies. The Art of Having a Body is an event of lively discussion about the intimate connections between the body and creativity.
In this event, we’ll investigate:
- How having a body intersects with creativity.
- How we can find inspiration from our bodies.
- How to be made out of stuff but not be materialistic.
- How the understanding of the human body in the arts changed over time.
